This assignment was to select a small found object and 3D scan it and then use the program Mesh Mixer, to digitally transform the object in some way. We then took these digital transformations and used a CNC Router to make our objects life size.
I selected an old rotary phone and transformed it to have the receiver and speaker flipped. The concept for this piece was to represent how people in today’s society are no longer listening nor being heard.
Dimensions: 36” x 12” x 24”
For this project we were to use a small found object to create plaster multiples to transform our original object into a new form. Through the process of gel molding and plaster casting, I was able to create a dynamically unique form nothing like the common teapot.
Dimensions: 12” x 2” x 9”
