‘Tides’ is an innovative stage design for 456 Presents LLC summer production of the 5th anniversary of the Great North: Music and Arts Festival in Maine. The concept for this stage design is a series of undulating wooden slats that create a wave like pattern. The design is inspired by the calm and subtle movement of the oceans tides, much like the tides off the coast of Maine. ‘Tides’, is a one of a kind stage design that encapsulates its viewers by the continuous movement of the undulating faces. The name ‘Tides’, originates from the movement of the water, powered by the sun and the moon. The hanging slatted portion is intended to represent the sun and the moon as one flowing form and its power over the movement of the ocean.
