Studio IQL has approached each different Roots Natural Kitchen location with a different attitude and conceptual feeling. The Richmond, Virginia location was originally an eat-in restaurant and bar from the 1920’s with loads of history and character. Studio IQL has been tasked with preserving some of the historic elements of the space, such as the floors and the columns, while also creating a contemporary and new edgy space. We designed bespoke lighting fixtures, cabinetry and benches to add a unique yet antique feel to the space. The concept for the Richmond location was to really embrace the raw, organic, and fresh aspects of the healthy food and combine them with the historic elements to create an overall cohesive space.
