Not Just an Excuse ft. The Attention Machine Experience debuted at the Loco Klub in Bristol in May of 2025.
This immersive iterative installation explores attention variability and the inner experience of ADHD brain — not how it is perceived from the outside, but how it really feels like on the inside.
So for me, it feels like my brain is a TV with lots of different channels... but someone else has the remote.
The Attention Machine Experience is a wall of diverse retro TVs displaying content created by the ADHD community in response to the question “What does your ADHD brain look, feel, or sound like?”
Rooted in narrative practice and built in collaboration with the neurodiverse community, this work aims to break stigmas, foster validation, and amplify a collective ADHD voice.
Moving forward, we will create a fully interactive version of this installation that combines the intimate storytelling of The Attention Machine Experience with the playful tablet demo game, to create a fun, interactive installation that reflects what ADHD really feels like.
